Our position is...

33 degrees 22 minutes North, 08 degrees 22 minutes West. We are going 7.4 Knts. and are on a course of 235 degrees true. We are supposed to be in Casablanca, Morrocco (33 degrees 37 minutes North, 07 degrees 33 minutes West) today but only a mile or so out from Casablanca, after an overnighter, my dad called the port control to request access through the brakewater and we were told that sailboats are not allowed anymore. What is most surprising is that Casablanca has the largest port in Morocco and is one of the four largest cities in Africa. We also had gotten a review of Casablanca from a boat that had been there only two months ago! I guess God did not mean us to go there. There was nowhere else we could go in Morocco that made any sense so we are now heading for the Canaries which should be three or four nights away. We are not sure which island we will make it to but we are hopping to make it all the way to Gran Canaria. The wind is only 12 Knts apparent but a current and the reletively shallow water have made the seas disproportionately large and sloppy. To make things worse the seas are on the beam. The skies have been clear all day and it is 75.2 degrees down below. We are motor sailing. Earlier today we passed a bit of the time away by reading a Father Brown Story (listed in recommended resources on the website)
