So What Is This Website All About?
I have created this non-cruising section of Immanuel's website for two equally important reasons: first to voice my views based on my biblical/capitalist worldview that I have developed over the course of our travels and, secondly, to further develop my worldview by hearing the views of others.
How Will I Accomplish This?
To accomplish the first of these goals, I will write an article every month analyzing a current political issue based on my worldview and I will also have a list of additional resources, the link is on the bottom left of this page, that support my worldview. To accomplish the second goal, I will be publishing any letters I receive that agree, build on the arguments of, or disagree, with the previous months monthly article. All letters become property of the webmaster (me) and may be published in whole or in part without payment to the writer. Please let me know if you want your name kept confidential. I will try to respond to as many letters as I can and post those responses on this website with the letters. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL WORK IS IF I RECEIVE LETTERS. For more information on the monthly article or about sending in letters click on their respective links on the top left of this page.
What Is My Worldview?
I believe it is impossible for any writer, journalist and newspaper editors especially, to be unbiased. Many people today, I do not know why, believe that writers are supposed to be objective. Because of this, many writers and journalists today do not disclose the viewpoints or opinions they use to decide what information is important and what is not, or what shall be presented or omitted. I do not adhere to this standard or claim to be objective. I believe in capitalism and that there is a higher law that even governments have to obey. Law is discovered not made up. The governments sole job is to protect our liberty by keeping an army to protect us from foreign invasion and discovering laws, and enforcing those laws, to protect us from other citizens. No, the government is not to protect us from ourselves. I believe that "all men are created equal" or, in other words, that all men are equal under the law. This does not mean that we are all equal in our talents or abilities or that we are all guaranteed equal happiness or prosperity. We are only guaranteed the equal rights to allow us to pursue happiness or prosperity to the best of our abilities. There should be no special privileges to anyone period "all men are created equal." These are the two main laws that I believe make civilization possible:
This may sound radical, and it may very well be by today's standards, but at American's founding this was the norm.
* The two laws are quoted from Whatever Happened to Justice? by Richard J. Maybury
